Robot Design Winners

11 students from the Year 9 Computer Science option group had been attending an enrichment club on a Friday after school, where they build and programme lego robots. The opportunity recently arose for them to take part in the First Lego League competition hosted by Nissan. The students faced a number of challenges throughout the day:

  • Core Values – they had tio demonstrate the main core values throughout the day and take part in a group challenge for this.
  • Innovation Project – students had to find an innovative use for a piece of land or building in their local area.
  • Robot Design – students had to complete a series of challenges by programming a robot.

Finally they had to justify all of their design decisions for the build of their robots.   30 schools took part and we’re delighted to say that the Freebrough team won the trophy for the best robot design.  Well done to all who took part – we’re very proud of you.
