Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). In response the government has announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time.
In 2020 – 2021 the academy will receive £66,200.00 from the government under the Coronavirus (COVID-19) catch-up premium.
In addition, Northern Education Trust has allocated a further £83,400.00 from reserves to support the catch-up strategy below.
Government COVID-19 Catch-Up Premium | Northern Education Trust COVID-19 Catch-Up Premium | Total COVID-19 Catch-Up Premium |
£66,200.00 | £83,400.00 | £149,600.00 |
In addition to the high-quality teaching and learning and raft of support that we offer as a matter of course in our academy we are able, in additional response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, to offer a range of enhanced bespoke ‘catch-up’ interventions to ensure students make the best possible progress going forward.
